LS6 is used for practical training courses to extend the knowledge about automatic language processing.
The lab station contains tasks concerning the transformation of requests in natural language into commands of a relational database. The problem is illustrated by using an example database containing clinical studies of leukaemia in Germany.
The station's core is built on the transformation-module of MWR.
Using this module the student learns the transformation from a
natural language query into a formal database language, so he should know how to work with this module.
The formal language used is the "structued query language" (SQL). Basic knowledge about SQL and the entitiy-relationship model (ERM) is necessary to solve the tasks.
The transformation module of this lab station is connected with MultiNet and MWR (see LS4) and with relational databases (see LS3).
